the conversation about AI has gotten a little out of hand lately…

Marketers that I won’t name are creating viral videos and ads with fear-based content about AI taking over the world of copywriting and marketing…

In 2022, I think it was somewhat fair… Because no one knew if AI was going to take their jobs…

But in 2023, the smartest people & companies are realizing that AI is a tool.

Just like the internet when it first came out, a lot of people thought it was a fad and didn't bother to learn how to use it.

Those people sat on the sidelines as the internet became a tool used to access information or share information faster than ever before…

The people who adopted & used the internet immediately were able to take advantage of all the opportunities it presented…

The same is true for copywriting and AI.

Those who take the time to learn how to write copy WITH AI will be operating with different capabilities than someone who doesn’t.

But those who don't bother to learn how to write copy with AI will be left behind… just like the people that decided the internet wasn’t for them.

If you haven’t yet used AI, right now it may not seem like you’re very far behind.

But the growth of AI is going to be EXPONENTIAL. Meaning that every day you don’t use it in 2023…

Is going to put you weeks behind in 2024…

Months behind in 2025…

And years behind in 2026 & beyond.

All you have to do is just play with the dang thing… Like open it up & have FUN with it.

Stop treating it like work.

That’s the first step to not getting overrun by AI.

Don’t get me wrong, with all that being said, it's still crucial to still get good at writing copy.

Just because a copywriter uses AI to help them doesn’t mean they’ll go from mediocre copywriter to A-list copywriter…

If you currently write poor copy, the copy that you used AI to help you with will still be poor.

However, if you work at learning all there is to know about copywriting…

And leverage that knowledge and skill with AI to get tasks done quicker…

You’ll rise to the top faster than the AI deniers.

And don’t forget that there are literally HUNDREDS of good AI tools that don’t have to do with copywriting.

… Things that can speed up the tasks you do each day.

Perry Belcher, in his recent presentation at Copy Accelerator, mentioned AI tools that can edit videos, help you with SEO, create non-coded software like phone apps, and much more.

Don’t forget, the possibilities are TRULY endless.

What if you created an app that becomes so popular someone is willing to pay you millions of dollars for it one day?

Kind of like how Mark Zuckerberg used the internet to create Facebook, which is now worth billions of dollars.

So the time is now to start playing with AI and different tools…

Or you’ll be on the outside looking in, regretting the emotional decision to stay away from AI.

The moral of the story is don’t let something new and “mysterious” be the reason you decide it’s not for you.
